Les Églisottes-et-Chalaures is a French commune with 2,152 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Gironde in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Libourne and the canton of Le Nord-Libournais (until 2015: canton of Coutras ).
geography
Les Églisottes-et-Chalaures is located about 51 kilometers northeast of Bordeaux and about 26 kilometers northeast of Libourne on the Dronne River , which also forms the western municipal boundary. Les Églisottes-et-Chalaures is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of La Barde in the north and north-west, La Roche-Chalais in the north and north-east, Saint-Christophe-de-Double in the east, Le Fieu in the south, Les Peintures in the south-west and Chamadelle in the west .
The Paris – Bordeaux line runs through the municipality , and there is also a train station here.
history
At the beginning of the 19th century, the parishes of Chalaures and Les Églisottes were merged.
