Galgon is a French commune in the Gironde department in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality is located in the closer catchment area of the city of Libourne . Galgon has 3,014 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017), a number that has more than doubled in the last 40 years. The municipality belongs to the canton of Le Libournais-Fronsadais in the Arrondissement of Libourne .
The place is on the right bank of the Saye river , which flows into the Isle a few kilometers later .
