Flood protection measures
Feldolling plays an important role in the planning of the flood protection measures on the Mangfall, as a side polder is planned on the south-eastern edge of the town to intercept flood peaks. This planned measure is currently controversial among the citizens of Feldolling, as, among other things, the effects on the groundwater level have not been clarified: During the Whitsun flood in 1999 and in subsequent years, the groundwater level rose to such an extent that cellars were flooded, especially in the southern, lower part of the village. If a side polder is flooded, the groundwater level is likely to come under further pressure and therefore also endanger the site.
