The canton Belin-Béliet was 2015, a Canton in Arrondissement Arcachon in the Gironde in the region Aquitaine in France . Vincent Nuchy ( PS ) was the last representative in the General Council of the Département from 2009 to 2015 .

history

The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the départements as part of what was then the "Bordeaux district".

With the establishment of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of the then arrondissement of Bordeaux. Since January 1, 2007, the canton has been part of the newly created Arrondissement Arcachon .

geography

The canton bordered the canton of Audenge in the north-west, the canton Gradignan in the north, the canton La Brède in the north-east, the canton Saint-Symphorien in the Langon arrondissement in the south-east and the cantons of Pissos and Parentis-en-Born in the south Arrondissement of Mont-de-Marsan in the Landes department .
