The Canton Lormont is a French canton in the Arrondissement Bordeaux in the Gironde in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine .
history
The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the departments as part of what was then the Bordeaux district .
With the establishment of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the arrondissement of Bordeaux.

Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the canton of Lormont included the four municipalities of Artigues-près-Bordeaux , Bassens , Lormont and Saint-Louis-de-Montferrand . Its layout corresponded to an area of 57.29 km 2 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 3360.
