Montussan is about twelve kilometers northeast of Bordeaux . Montussan is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Loubès in the north, Saint-Sulpice-et-Cameyrac in the northeast, Beychac-et-Caillau in the east and southeast, Pompignac in the south and Yvrac in the west.

The A89 autoroute runs through the municipality .
