Pessac is a town in the French region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine in the Gironde department with 63,808 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017). The city is located in the Arrondissement of Bordeaux and forms two separate cantons, Canton Pessac-1 and Canton Pessac-2 .
The French euro coins are minted in Pessac (see Monnaie de Paris ).

Viticulture
Two very well-known wineries, Château Haut-Brion and Château Pape-Clément are located in Pessac . Pessac is a wine-growing town in the Graves wine-growing region and belongs to the Pessac-Léognan appellation .
Settlement of Le Corbusier
The architect Le Corbusier built a housing estate with workers' apartments for the sugar manufacturer Henry Frugès in what is now west of Pessac from 1924 to 1926. It was the first urban development project that Le Corbusier implemented. 51 of 127 planned residential units were built in seven types. An urban connection to Hauptstrasse u. a. with shops; The only thing that was implemented was the housing estate, which has since been a little off the beaten track next to the railway line to the west. The city of Pessac has bought and renovated a so-called high-rise building (gratte-ciel type) that can be visited.
