Cestas is a French municipality with 16,922 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Gironde department in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The city is located in the Arrondissement of Bordeaux and in the Canton of Pessac-1 .

Cestas is about 15 kilometers southwest of Bordeaux .

economy

The community is home to the Cestas solar park , which was the largest solar park in Europe when it was officially commissioned in December 2015. It covers a good two square kilometers and has a peak output of 300 megawatts .
