Blanquefort is a French town in the Gironde department in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine .
geography
Blanquefort is located northwest of Bordeaux and is crossed by the Jalle River. It is located in the Arrondissement of Bordeaux and belongs to the canton of Les Portes du Médoc . Blanquefort has 15,833 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017).

Attractions
Lake and grotto of the Parc de Majolan
- The Saint-Martin church, was built 1806–1816; the tower burned down after a lightning strike in 1823 and was restored in 1827.
- The Saint-Joseph church in the Caychac parish was built in 1867/68.
- The Blanquefort castle ruins date from the 11th to 15th centuries.
- The Dillon castle dates back to 17-18. Century. It has been a Monument historique since 1984 .
- The Dulamon castle was built around the 1870th
- The Parc de Majolan with a gigantic grotto and a large lake as the center was created at the end of the 19th century. It has an area of 20 hectares.
- Fongravey Castle was built around 1780 in the style of an Italian villa and modified in later centuries.
- Breillan Castle, originally from the 16th century, was changed in the 20th century in the neo-Gothic style.
- The Saint-Ahon castle dates back to the 19th century.
- The Le Dehez Castle served several members of the parlements of Bordeaux as a second home.

Infrastructure
The community is served by the TBC bus lines. The northern terminus of tram line C of the Bordeaux tram is at Blanquefort train station.
