The Jalle is a river in France that runs in the Gironde department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region . It also has extended names in sections (such as Jalle de Taillan, Jalle de Canteret ). Its source is in the municipal area of Saint-Jean-d'Illac , drains in the greater Bordeaux area generally towards the northeast and flows into the Garonne as a right tributary after 32 kilometers at the municipal boundary of Bordeaux and Blanquefort . In the lower reaches, north of Bordeaux, it is split up into a multitude of watercourses by various canal constructions, which are mainly used to irrigate agricultural crops.
