Seek Bromance is a song by Swedish DJ Tim Bergling aka Avicii . It was released as a single in Germany on November 12, 2010 and became a top 10 hit or even a number one hit in several countries.

Emergence

Seek Bromance is a mash up of the two songs Bromance and Love U Seek . The instrumental track Bromance was released on August 6, 2010 under his artist name Tim Berg . Together with Arash Pournouri he remixed the song some time later with the voice of Amanda Wilson in the song Love U Seek . Love You Seek comes from the Italian DJ Samuele Sartini. The song title was also derived from the two song names Love You Seek and Bromance .

Seek Bromance was composed by Avicii himself and Arash Pournouri. The text was written by Samuele Sartini, Maurizio Alfieri, Davide Domenella, Wendy Lewis, Andrea Tonici, Amanda Wilson and Massimiliano Moroldo. Avicii produced the track and released it digitally and as a CD single on November 12, 2010 on the German dance label Kontor Records . It was published in the Netherlands in October.

Music video

The official music video was released on September 30, 2010 on the official Kontor Records YouTube channel. It is very complex. You can interpret it in different directions.

It starts with a boy being kicked out of the house by his father. Angry, he goes to his friends who are waiting in his car and gets behind the wheel. His girlfriend leans over to him and asks if everything is okay. He shakes his head and steps on the accelerator. After a while he calmed down and the three of them made their way from Los Angeles to Las Vegas , laughing . They make several stops, for example at a cafeteria or in the desert, where they light a campfire, eat something and smoke a cigarette for fun. The next day they drive on. Then the car breaks down and they try to hitchhike. But they are ignored. The two boys finally repair the car and the group arrives in Las Vegas that evening. The three marvel at the many casinos. They celebrate together. As the girl dances on the tables, the two boys' heads spin and spin. After a long evening, the trio falls into bed. The two boys kiss the young girl together, but the next morning they leave her and drive on.

A more in-depth interpretation of the video says that suppressed homosexuality is discussed here. At the beginning, the red-haired boy is thrown from his parents' house by his father. It often happens that the male parent has problems with his son's homosexuality and therefore no longer wants to have him in the house. The boy himself doesn't want to admit his affection. At the beginning of the video, the girl asks him if he is homosexual, he says no. However, in the entire video, the girl is not noticed by anyone, apparently she does not exist. When the car breaks down, nobody stops, the girl dances provocatively, but is ignored by all men and only the boys are thrown out of the casino. The girl is a metaphor for the boys' repressed homosexuality. In the end, they sleep together and thus admit their inclinations. In the end, they no longer need the metaphor, the girl, and continue on their own.

The song hit the charts in several countries . In Belgium it even reached the top of the chart. Seek Bromance was also able to place in the top 10 of many other countries , including the Netherlands, Poland and Denmark. The track was also found in the German sales charts; here he made it to place 61.
