Cazzette ( spelling : CAZZETTE ) is a Swedish DJ duo from Stockholm founded in 2011 consisting of the two DJs and producers Sebastian Furrer and Alexander Björklund. According to their own statements, their music initially represented a mixture of dubstep and house (“dubhouse”). In 2014 they switched to deep and future house . They have worked with Avicii's former studio partner Ash Pournouri since their inception .

history

Furrer was previously active under the pseudonym Evana and initially signed a record deal with the German record label Zooland Records . There he got to know Björklund and they released the song Rising together as Dirty Vision . They later changed their name to Cazzette in 2011 . Her remix debut took place with a mix of Avicii's single Sweet Dreams that same year. Due to the fresh sound of the reinterpretation, he became aware of the duo and signed them to his and Pournouri's record label At Night Management . This was followed by a remix of the Swedish House Mafia single Save the World . Her early productions in particular all contained her later dubhouse style.

In 2012, after many appearances, including at Tomorrowland , they released their single Beam Me Up , which became their first commercial success. The music video also made the duo better known. It explains the background of dancing and has been viewed over 6 million times to date. The piece is sung by the singer Kelly Sheehan. The mixtape Strictly Cazzette with previous remixes and productions by the DJ duo was released shortly afterwards on November 16, 2012 via the Strictly Rhythm label . Furthermore, the two EPs Eject pt. I and Eject pt. II were released in the same year with a selection of new songs and remixes that they themselves created for their own songs.

In spring 2014, for the time being, their debut album Eject was released exclusively on the music platform Spotify , with which they presented both previous and new songs. At the same time, the progressive house track Gravity and singer-songwriter Matthew Koma gained great popularity on the Internet . However, there was no release. On Facebook, the duo wrote “A year ago, We decided to make songs that we always wanted to make.” In German: “A year ago we decided to make songs that we always wanted to make.” With this post they announced Genre change from their original dubhouse style to deep and future house , which was very popular at the time , for which they were heavily criticized by fans on the one hand, but also received many compliments on the other. The first release was the single Sleepless , with which they reached a position in the Swedish charts for the first time . Almost six months later, the duo released another single, Blind Heart, together with the singer Terri B! , this also entered the home charts at the end of October 2014.
