The Villa Stein was by Le Corbusier designed and in 1927 in Garches , France , built. It is also known as Villa Stein-de Monzie.

The Villa Stein was constructed for Gabrielle de Monzie and for her friends Michael and Sarah Stein. According to analyzes by the architect Colin Rowe , Villa Stein has the same rhythm of proportions as the famous Villa Foscari , designed by Andrea Palladio . Nevertheless, the Villa Stein differs clearly from the so-called "Malcontenta" in its appearance. Its floor plan is asymmetrical and the facade is characterized by horizontal bands.
