The Villa Stoltzenberg is a residential building in Berlin-Grunewald , Trabener Straße 1.

history

It was built in 1899 by the Berlin government builder and architect Ludwig Otte for the manor owner Richard Stoltzenberg. The client wanted to have a country house that would resemble the nearby country house of Robert Imelmann (Königsallee 37). It is a listed building .

description

The result was a house very similar to the model of the house at Koenigsallee 37, which only differed in color. The house should express the origin of the builders, landowners. This created a building that was very wide. The simple ornamentation, which depicts native plants and animal forms, is intended to remind of the simple rural building forms. The impression should be created as if “it had been conceived and executed by good rural masters who, without modern specialist training, still draw their inspiration from the cozy style of the good old days” . The building has an asymmetrical facade design and is accentuated by the three-quarter-round, three-storey bay tower . Together with its outbuilding, which was also used for residential purposes after 1969, the house has a strong urban impact on the north side of the station square.
