Architecture information board

On behalf of the private banker Heinrich August Wolde (1853–1917) from the Schultze & Wolde bank, the Villa Wolde was built from 1896 to 1898 in the historicist era according to plans by the architect Martin Haller from Hamburg by the master builder Diedrich Tölken . The two- to three- story neoclassical residential building with an additional mezzanine floor has a representative columned portal . The hall on the ground floor is impressive with its stucco ceiling and the partially preserved wood paneling in the base.

Wolde lived in the villa only with his wife and a few servants; his wife lived in the house until 1944. In 1898, the property of the villa extended from Osterdeich to the street Vor dem Steintor .

After the Second World War , the Norddeutsches Holz trade association owned the building until 1997. Stefan Thews acquired the villa and, after the renovation, used it from 1998 as the headquarters of companies and at times a fitness studio.
