Vinstra

Vinstra is a Norwegian town in Gudbrandsdalen with about 2500 inhabitants. Vinstra is the administrative seat of the municipality of Nord-Fron , which lies in the Fylke Innlandet . There is also a river of the same name that flows into Lågen in Vinstra from the east .

Vinstra and Peer Gynt

Peder Olsen Hågå from Vinstra was the model for the main character in Henrik Ibsen's drama Peer Gynt from 1867. The Peer Gynt hiking trail via Gåla to Lillehammer and the Peer Gynt alpine pasture trail to Kvam (Nord-Fron) begin in Vinstra .

Infrastructure

Vinstra, with its location on Europastraße 6 and a stop on the Dovrebahn, is well connected in terms of transport.

There is a secondary school in Vinstra.
