Vincent Elsner

Vinzenz Elsner (* 1861 in Wölsdorf ; † after 1893) was a Sudeten German teacher and local researcher.

Elsner studied at the teacher training institute in Trautenau and after successfully completing the exams became a specialist teacher for the 1st group and for Czech specialist teacher in Slatin , Marschendorf , Polkendorf , Pelsdorf and at the community schools in Niederrochlitz and Gablonz . Since 1893 he published the local history of the Rochlitz district together with the Rochlitz teachers' association . Because of his good knowledge of the Czech language, he translated several books on homeland that had appeared in this language into German. He collected legends and published the results of his local research in several publications.
