Viscount Brookeborough
Viscount Brookeborough , of Colebrooke in the County of Fermanagh , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .
The family's ancestral home is in Colebrooke Park near Enniskillen , County Fermanagh.
Award and subordinate titles
The title was created on July 1, 1952 for Sir Basil Brooke, 5th Baronet , then Prime Minister of Northern Ireland and leader of the Ulster Unionist Party .
In 1907 he had inherited from his father the title of 5th Baronet , of Colebrooke in the County of Fermanagh, which had been created on January 7, 1822 for his ancestor Henry Brooke , a member of the British House of Commons . The baronet dignity belongs to the Baronetage of the United Kingdom and is listed as a subordinate title of the Viscount; there are no other subordinate titles.
Field Marshal Alan Brooke, 1st Viscount Alanbrooke , was the sixth son of the third baronet and thus an uncle of the first Viscount.
