Viscount Hambleden
Viscount Hambleden , of Hambleden in the County of Buckingham , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .
Award
The title was created on November 11, 1891 for Emily Smith , nee Danvers. The award was in recognition of the merits of her husband, the politician and businessman William Henry Smith, who died on October 6, 1891 . The inheritance of the title was restricted to her male descendants from the marriage with him when it was awarded.
Today's title holder is her great-great grandson Henry Smith as 5th Viscount.
