Viscount Waverley

Viscount Waverley , of Westdean in the County of Sussex , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

Award

The title was created on January 28, 1952 for the politician Sir John Anderson , who had served as Governor of Bengal and various ministerial posts . The title is held today by his grandson as the 3rd Viscount. The latter is one of the 90 elected nobility who retained their seat in the House of Lords under the House of Lords Act 1999 .
