John Anderson, 3rd Viscount Waverley

John Desmond Forbes Anderson, 3rd Viscount Waverley (born October 31, 1949 ) is a British peer and has been a non-party member of the House of Lords since 1990 .

Life

He received his education at Malvern College .

His grandfather, John Anderson , was Minister and Governor of Bengal on several occasions , and was promoted to 1st Viscount Waverley in 1952. After the death of his father David Anderson , who was 2nd Viscount Waverley in 1958, John Desmond Forbes Anderson inherited the title of 3rd Viscount Waverley and the associated seat in the House of Lords in 1990 . Since then he has belonged to the non-party peers, the so-called cross- benchers .

In 1999 he was selected as one of the 92 hereditary nobles who were allowed to keep their inherited seat in the House of Lords even after the House of Lords Act 1999 was introduced .

He has no children and has been married to Ursula Helen Barrow, who was the High Commissioner for Belize in Great Britain , in 1994 .
