Vision Vancouver is a local political party in the Canadian city of Vancouver . It stands in the middle of the political spectrum and emerged in 2005 when then Mayor Larry Campbell and three city council members resigned from the center-left Coalition of Progressive Electors (COPE). This was due to differences of opinion with the COPE city councils, who are further to the left, on tax and urban planning policy. In the 2005 city council elections, Vision Vancouver won three seats. Three years later it achieved an absolute majority and is also the incumbent mayor, Gregor Robertson .
