Transoilgroup

The Transoilgroup AG , headquartered in St. Gallen sold crude oil from the production at the Visoka oil field in Albania . The company is the license holder for the production rights of the oil field under a Production Sharing Agreement with the Albanian state authorities. This has been running for 25 years since February 2012, with an option to extend it for a further 5 years until 2042. The group has around 150 employees (as of June 2015).

Operations

A wholly owned subsidiary, the Transoilgroup SH.A, was founded in November 2010 in the Albanian capital Tirana and has been the operator of the Visoka oil field since February 2012. Since taking over the oil field, production has increased to over 60 MT per day (as of December 2013). The Visoka oil field has an area of ​​28.6 km² and is approx. 38 km from the nearest Mediterranean port. The oil deposits of approx. 120 MMstb (3P) are located at a depth of 800 to 1,900 meters.

Albania has hardly any developed gas and oil reserves. It is estimated that there are 3.014 billion cubic meters of gas and 2.987 billion barrels of oil. Albpetrol , the state-owned oil company, owns 1,264 oil wells in Albania. These produce over 135,000 tons of crude oil annually.
