On September 19, 2016, it became known that the advertising group Ströer had bought Vitalsana and the associated pharmaceutical wholesaler ApDG, thereby expanding its “Health & Beauty” division, to which other companies such as M. Asam had already been acquired.

Vitalsana has been located in the city of Heerlen ( Netherlands ) not far from the German border, around 15 km from Aachen , unchanged since it was founded .

Vitalsana generated sales of around 30 million euros in 2016.

In 2017 Vitalsana was taken over by the Zur Rose Group .

Company facts

At its headquarters in Heerlen, Vitalsana operates a classic stationary pharmacy under Dutch law and a dispatch center, with Jacques Waterval as the head pharmacist.

Vitalsana is also approved for deliveries to customers in Germany by shipping. According to its own information (as of 2010) Vitalsana has more than one million customers.

Vitalsana is a member of the European Association of Mail-Service Pharmacies ( EAMSP ).

In 2012, the Higher Regional Court of Stuttgart (OLG) banned pharmaceutical advice from being offered only via a chargeable hotline. In addition, the court prohibited Vitalsana from giving away shopping vouchers to customers who order prescription drugs from the mail-order pharmacy. With regard to the question of the operating license, the Federal Court of Justice overturned the judgment of the lower instance and referred it back to the OLG. This procedure before the OLG Stuttgart was ended by a settlement in 2013.
