Vladimir Padrino López

Vladimir Padrino López (born May 30, 1963 in Caracas ) is a Venezuelan military . He has been Minister of Defense of Venezuela since 2014 and also holds the position of Strategic Operational Commander of the Venezuelan Armed Forces . Within the government he is considered the most powerful man behind President Nicolás Maduro .
Padrino completed a classic military career at the Venezuela Military Academy in 1994. As part of a further training course between February and April 1995 at the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation on the basis of the United States Army in Fort Benning , Georgia, a course in "Psychological Operations".
Padrino is a father of two and lives separately from his wife.
