Vo Dao Vietnam is a martial art that was adapted to European anatomy by Grand Master Chu-Tan-Cuong during and after his studies in Halle in the late 1980s. During this time the grand master succeeded in founding numerous schools - especially in eastern Germany.

Graduations

Vo Dao Vietnam has six student degrees and several master degrees. The exams for the individual degrees are taken with Grand Master Chu-Tan-Cuong. Masters René Schnuer, Chu-Tan-Chau and André Müller help him with this. The student grades are logically building on each other. They initially consist of basic techniques, combinations and one or more summarizing processes, the Bai-Quyen. In higher student grades, combat and weapon techniques are also part of the exam.

techniques

Student grade techniques include unarmed techniques, the long stick, and the sword. In addition, other weapon techniques are taught, which sometimes require great mastery. This includes, for example, the chain, the nunchaku , the halberd and the spear as well as the use of short sticks. Higher student grades also train free combat, which is trained from the first grade. Vo Dao Vietnam also knows self-defense, acrobatics and breathing techniques. The hardening of the body makes the fighter more resistant to attacks.

Acupressure is also taught in preparation for the master's examination .

The Vo Dao Vietnam logo shows the yin and yang symbol - in Vietnamese Am & Duong - also the bamboo. Both are framed by an octagon. It contains the cardinal points. The bamboo is of central importance for the Vietnamese. It is a central part of life because it donates food, building materials and clothing, among other things. It is also firm on the one hand, and very flexible on the other; a quality that a martial arts student should also show.
