Volk auf dem Weg is the association magazine of the Landsmannschaft der Deutschen aus Russland e. V.

The issue appears 11 times a year (double issue August / September) with 48 pages in German.

The founding of the newsletter was decided in October 1950 and the first edition appeared in December. The subscription price for an annual subscription was initially 6 DM for 1,000 subscribers. A subscription later rose to 36 DM (1976) with 7,000 subscribers, and in 1980 the subscription to "Volk auf dem Weg" was canceled in favor of a free distribution of the monthly magazine to members of the Landsmannschaft.

The seat of the editorial office is in the federal office of the Landsmannschaft der Germans from Russia in Stuttgart . The current editorial team (as of May 2020) consists of Hans Kampen, Nina Paulsen and Katharina Martin-Virolainen.

The magazine reports on the current activities of the Landsmannschaft in the regions, the political, societal, cultural, social and internal association engagement of the Landsmannschaft. The following headings can be found in each issue:
