Career as a footballer
In his active career as a footballer, he first played for VfB 05 Knielingen . In 1981 he moved to SV Sandhausen in the Oberliga , in his second season he was able to convince with 13 goals in 33 games and so he made the jump to the 2nd Bundesliga with the Stuttgarter Kickers . After two years as a professional in Stuttgart, Beck was still active for FC Rastatt 04 and SV Linx in the major leagues.
