Volker Luft (* 1964 in Loffenau / Black Forest) is a German composer and guitarist .

Luft composes tonal music for chamber orchestra, percussion and solo guitar, as well as chamber music for guitar, cello, mandolin, flute, violin, string quartet, organ, choral works and music radio plays.

Compositions, guitar schools and arrangements by Luft were published by the publishers Mel Bay / USA, Hofmeister Verlag / Leipzig, Schell Music / Hamburg, Edition Margaux / Berlin, Zimmermann Verlag / Frankfurt, Verlag Neue Musik, Berlin, Acoustic Music Book, / Wilhelmshaven, Notafina - Schott Music / Mainz.

As a guitarist, Volker Luft has been playing concerts, tours, television and radio appearances with various music groups and artists since 1983. His stylistic spectrum ranges from classical, flamenco, fingerpicking, jazz, folk, blues, rock music and new music.

Compositions by Volker Luft have been published internationally as records and CD recordings. The solo CD “Sommerelegie” became reader CD of the month for the guitar & bass magazine , as was the CD “Tönereich” by Luft & Saußele for the acoustic guitar magazine . The two radio plays "It came to pass ..." and "Genesis" are used in religious education at public schools in Germany.
