The popular campaign against too many foreigners and asylum seekers in our homeland (VA) is a right-wing populist or right-wing extremist small party in the Swiss canton of Basel-Stadt . It is led by its founder Eric Weber and from 2012 to 2016 was represented with two out of 100 seats in the cantonal parliament.

According to the Neue Zürcher Zeitung , the party's name is its only program. During the election campaign, the candidates for the People's Action demanded “closed internment camps for asylum seekers ” and the “death penalty for drug dealers”.

Participation in elections

In the cantonal elections on October 28, 2012, the Volks-Aktion only ran for election in the Kleinbasel constituency . She achieved 5.46% of the vote and two parliamentary seats for Eric Weber and Martin Gschwind . During the election campaign, Eric Weber was arrested twice on suspicion of election fraud . Shortly after the beginning of the legislative period in February 2013, Gschwind resigned from the Volks-Aktion, so that she only had one seat on the Grand Council.

In October 2016 Weber and Gschwind were not re-elected to the Grand Council, so from 2017 the Volks-Aktion will no longer be represented in political authorities. Weber said it was the fault of the tellers who made his ballot papers disappear.
