People's Party (Finland, 1932)

The People's Party (Finnish: Kansanpuolue ) was a party in Finland that existed from 1932 to 1936.

The party was founded on August 21, 1932 in Ylivieska . The party's chairman was Yrjö Hautala , his deputy Fredrik Rautio . In 1936 the party was absorbed into the newly founded Small Farmers and Rural People's Party .

The People's Party represented populist interests of the small farmers. Their center was in the region around Kalajoki on the northern west coast of Finland. In the parliamentary elections in 1933 , representatives of the party ran in the constituencies of Vaasa and Oulu. With 0.85% of the total vote in Finland, she entered the Finnish Parliament with Heikki Niskanen and Yrjö Hautala. In Saloinen the party received 55.7% of the vote. In 1936 the party received a mandate.
