The People's Revolutionary Party of Benin ( French Parti de la Révolution Populaire du Benin , abbreviation PRPB ) was a communist political party in the People's Republic of Benin (today's Republic of Benin ).

It was founded in 1975 by General Mathieu Kérékou . With the new constitution of November 30, 1975, the PRPB became the only legal party in the country. The party was ideologically committed to Marxism-Leninism .

In the 1979 and 1984 parliamentary elections, the only party that could run was the PRPB. In 1979 the party's unified list received 1,243,286 votes (97.9%), and in 1984 the unified list received 1,811,208 votes (98.1%).

In 1989 the party renounced Marxism-Leninism as the main ideological culture. However, it remained the ruling force of Benin until 1990.
