The Draschestraße elementary school is located at Draschestraße 96 in the Inzersdorf district in the 23rd district of Liesing in Vienna . The school building is a listed building .

history

The building was built in 1911/1912 as a primary and secondary school. Today the school is an elementary school , former uses for secondary school, polytechnic course and kindergarten have been abandoned. A modern extension with a second gym and four more classes was opened in 2017.

architecture

The monumental two-storey corner building in late secessionist - neoclassical forms with a dominant mansard roof forms a quasi-rounded main front towards Inzersdorfer Kirchenplatz in the corner. The main corner front has corner pilasters with attachments with obelisks, a roof turret sits enthroned in the middle of the mansard roof. The facade is rhythmically heavily windowed, the windows have split and tail gables with coats of arms and festoons.
