Volkstheater (Stuttgart)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Volkstheater was a privately run theater in Stuttgart founded in 1945 (according to other sources, 1946) , which, like many other private theaters , had to close for economic reasons in 1948 after the currency reform .

Initially, the theater used various rooms, including a cinema in Stuttgart-Heslach . In December 1947 the company moved into its own building in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen . Side trips were played in Göppingen , Mühlacker , Bad Kissingen and numerous places in the Stuttgart area.

Operettas such as Mask in Blue and Im Weiße Rößl , as well as the play XYZ by Klabund were played .

The ensemble consisted of almost 20 actors (including Walter Schultheiß and Trudel Wulle ) as well as a ten-piece ballet and a 24-piece orchestra. Kurt Fischer-Hollweg was the theater director. Bernhard Redetzki was the senior director of the operetta area .
