Whole food

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Whole food is a term from dietetics and describes a complete diet that contains all nutritional components , i.e. carbohydrates , lipids , proteins , fiber , vitamins and minerals in a balanced ratio and completely covers the need for energy . So it is the usual diet as opposed to a weight loss diet . With the light whole diet - especially in hospitals and spa facilities - food is avoided that could potentially cause symptoms such as flatulence or allergies .

In contrast to the term whole food , which is sometimes used synonymously, social or ecological aspects of nutrition are not considered in whole food .
