Lists on the subject

The Vollmer – MPi was a submachine gun based on the Bergmann MP 18 , for which Heinrich Vollmer received the patent in 1927 .

description

The general staffs of the Imperial Army and later the Reichswehr were skeptical of the development of submachine guns. That is why almost the entire production of 350 to 400 Vollmer MPi's in the Erfurt machine and tool factory Berthold Geipel (ERMA) was sold abroad. The first prototypes of the Vollmer MPi had a cooling jacket and drum magazine. Later versions were provided with a mass-cooled barrel and rod magazine . The rate of fire was 80 S / min with single fire and 120 S / min with continuous fire.

Heinrich Vollmer has been the owner of Vollmer Werke GmbH since 1909, whose headquarters are in Biberach an der Riss and in 2012 employed more than 700 people worldwide.
