The Von-der-Heydt-Park (also Heydt'sche parking charges ) is an approximately 3.2-hectare park in the south of Wuppertal municipality Elberfeld . The park is named after the von der Heydt family.

The park with a rectangular base is located in an upscale residential area northeast of Jägerhofstrasse and is perhaps best reached via the side street Am Friedenshain . In addition to an extensive meadow and a small forest, there is a children's playground and a pavilion . The R4 cycle path via Friedenshain, Königshöhe and Kohlfurth runs through this park.

In the middle is the Heine monument . The original memorial from 1893, donated by Baroness Selma von der Heydt , which was in a different location, was destroyed in 1933. In 1958 the Heine monument in Von-der-Heydt-Park was renewed in its present form by the sculptor Harald Schmahl . It quotes the fourth section from the Prologue (WikiSource) of the Book of Songs . There are two churches at both ends of the park: in the west the Catholic Church of St. Hedwig and in the east the Evangelical Johanneskirche , an emergency church from the time after the Second World War.
