The Koninklijke Vopak NV (Royal Vopak dt .: Aktiengesellschaft) is a Dutch company that is engaged in the storage and distribution of petroleum, gas and chemical products. Vopak was created in 1999 through the merger of the Pakhoed and Van Ommeren companies , but the first predecessor company had been operating under the name Blauwhoedenveem since 1616 . The company operates terminals for the handling of liquid goods and for LNG gasification worldwide . In 2002 the chemicals dealer Univar , a former subsidiary, was separated from Vopak. Vopak then concentrated on pure cargo handling and Univar has been operating as an independent company ever since. As a result of this spin-off, Vopak lost over 80% of its annual turnover.

On 21 May 2019 European Diversified Infrastructure Fund II SCSP has cleared the acquisition of sole control over 80% of the shares of Vopak Terminal Algeciras SA and its entire stake in Vopak Terminal Amsterdam Westpoort BV, and the Vopak Dubeg Terminal Hamburg GmbH on the Federal Cartel Office to Exam registered. The fund is managed by Colonial First State Investment, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation ( Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group ). The aforementioned Vopak group companies operate oil and chemical terminals in Algeciras , Amsterdam and Hamburg.
