Pre-aligning (welding technology)
The Vorrichten is a term from the pipeline and plant or from the welding technology . This means preparing a pipe or fittings for welding. This is necessary for larger wall thicknesses (> 3 mm) in order to guarantee a technically perfect weld seam. In most cases, a bevel is removed from the pipe ends by grinding with an angle grinder and a flap disc . This results, for example, in the later characteristic V-shape of a weld seam. But fully automated systems are also available. In addition, any changes in wall thickness between pipelines or fittings must be adjusted by pre-setting in order to achieve a clean weld root.
In many countries the judge is a recognized profession with the appropriate qualification.
