Preselection

Preselection stands for:

  • Connection network operator code, for making telephone calls via an alternative telephone company using the call-by-call procedure (in the format 010xy or 0100xy)
  • Traffic elimination number that reaches the higher-level network from the current network (local network: 0; telephone system: e.g. 9; national network: 00)
  • International telephone code that must be placed in front of a telephone number for international calls (e.g. [00] 33 for France)
