The Vulcan Point is the north-western headland of Candlemas Iceland in the archipelago of the South Sandwich Islands .
The crew of the Discovery II named them in 1930 when mapping for the British Discovery Investigations . It is named after a lava plateau on the headland , which indicates earlier volcanic activity.
