Vytautas Petras Knašys

Vytautas Petras Knašys (born May 13, 1937 in Garliava , Kaunas Rajongemeinde ) is a Lithuanian agronomist and politician , minister .

Life

In 1956 he graduated from the technical center for horticulture in Freda and in 1961 he studied agronomy at the Lietuvos žemės ūkio akademija and received his doctorate in 1971. From 1961 to 1965 he worked in Vytėnai , from 1965 to 1967 in Samališkė , from 1967 to 1989 director of the Vėžaičiai branch of a research institute, from 1989 to 1990 Minister of Agriculture of Soviet Lithuania , from 1990 to 1991 and from 1996 to 1998 (in the Vagnorius II cabinet ) Minister of Agriculture of Lithuania , member of the Seimas from 1996 to 2000 .

He was a member of Lietuvos komunistų partija , from 1996 Tėvynės sąjunga .

With his wife Dalia he has the children Valdas, Rasa and Milda.
