Since the 18th century there was a Württemberg embassy in Berlin , which existed until 1933. Until 1870/71 she was responsible for relations between Württemberg and the Kingdom of Prussia , and then also with the German Empire . Since the establishment of the Empire in 1871, the Württemberg ambassadors in Berlin also acted as authorized representatives to the Federal Council.

From 1873 to 1875 Wilhelm Neumann built a new building for the embassy at Vossstraße 10. After the end of the legation in 1933, the building was purchased by the Reich in 1937 and demolished in 1938 for the construction of the Reich Chancellery .
