The WBS Training AG is a German training provider based in Berlin, which refers to the professional development focused and has nationwide 200 branch offices. There are also locations in Austria. In 2018, WBS Training had an annual turnover of around 103 million euros and employed 1,147 people as well as more than 1,000 external speakers.

The courses offered are certified by the DQS in accordance with the Accreditation and Licensing Ordinance for Employment Promotion (AZAV) and a. certified training partner of SAP , Microsoft , DATEV and Lexware . The measures are often carried out online and are divided into the brands WBS Training and WBS Akademie . WBS Training carries out subsidized advanced training and retraining. The WBS Academy imparts specialist knowledge, soft skills and leadership competencies in digital seminars as well as state-recognized advanced training courses and master’s degrees.

history

The origins of the company emerged in 1979 in the editorial office of Ernst Klett Verlag in Stuttgart , from which the Wirtschafts- und Bildungsservice KG (Klett WBS) was founded in 1985. In 1997 the company was completely dissolved by Klett Verlag and later became a stock corporation that has not yet been listed on the stock exchange.

In 2010, the educational offer was expanded with the establishment of WBS Training Schools gGmbH , whose portfolio includes training, retraining and advanced training in the areas of health, care and social affairs. The core company WBS Training has been certified according to the Economy for the Common Good since 2016, which means that an ethical economic model with the well-being of people and the environment is the top priority.

Today, most of the courses are held online: anywhere, live and interactive. In a virtual, 3-dimensional simulation of a training center ( WBS LearnSpace 3D® ), the participants are trained as avatars in digital space.

The headquarters of WBS Training was for many years in the Ullsteinhaus in Berlin-Tempelhof and since 2017 in the adjacent Lorenzweg.

Branches

About half of the approx. 200 branches have an AZAV carrier license and are thus approved carriers under German employment promotion law. Some of the other locations are smaller or temporary training centers. LebensGut Pommritz is one of the branches . In the training centers, qualification measures take place within the framework of funded professional development, training and retraining, as well as extra-occupational seminars in order to impart knowledge relevant to the labor market. The range of courses includes technical and commercial professions, health, care and social professions or professions in IT and media. The qualifications can, for example , be funded through the Federal Employment Agency , a job center or the professional development service. The quality of implementation is regularly examined by the inspection service of the Employment Agency for Labor Market Services (AMDL), including: participant information, course of measures, conception and implementation, qualification of staff, spatial conditions, technical equipment, evaluation and questioning of participants on implementation quality.

Board

The board of directors of WBS Training is the Austrian entrepreneur Heinrich Kronbichler, who bought the company from Ernst Klett Verlag in the 1990s and spun it out, and since 2016 the German manager Joachim Giese, who was previously a member of the management team.

Current job market

The company regularly carries out labor market studies and publishes the results in Jobmarkt Aktuell (formerly: JobReport ). For example, the professional situations and prospects in the health sector or with SAP specialists are analyzed and evaluated. The 2015 edition of “Professions in the Media” analyzed, among other things, the career opportunities in the area of ​​online media and social media for around 26,000 jobs advertised nationwide from March to May 2015.
