The Kunstverlag Weingarten (also Weingarten Verlag ) was founded in 1976 in Weingarten and is today one of the most important picture calendar publishers in Germany and in numerous other countries around the world. Over 200 different calendars appear annually ; The thematic focuses are painting from the late 19th and 20th centuries, photo art, landscape photography, dolls and historical toys and the Stuttgart ballet .

In addition to calendars, the publisher has a large selection of art and photo art cards in its range.

The publisher's book program, which supplemented calendar production, was discontinued in 2004. The focus was on the fine arts of the 19th and 20th centuries, artistic photography, unusual cookbooks and old toys.

On January 1, 2006, the Bibliographisches Institut & FA Brockhaus group took over the publishing house, which was also named "Der Kalenderverlag GmbH - Weingarten".

Weingarten has been integrated into the Athesia Kalenderverlag holding company since April 1, 2008 .
