The Athesia calendar Verlag GmbH is a holding company based in Unterhaching in Munich .
history
The holding was founded by Bibliographisches Institut & FA Brockhaus AG and Heye Verlag on April 1, 2008 as KV&H Verlag GmbH . Calendar Verlag Mannheim and Heye Verlag have been incorporated into the holding . KV&H Verlag united the calendar publishers Heye Verlag, Weingarten Verlag and Harenberg Verlag as well as the calendars that appear under the Brockhaus , Duden and Meyers brands . This created Germany's largest calendar offering with a sales volume of over 35 million euros.
KV&H Verlag was part of the Franz Cornelsen Education Group until November 2, 2015 , before it was taken over by the South Tyrolean printing and publishing group Athesia .
On December 1, 2017, the name of the company was changed from KV&H Verlag GmbH to Athesia Kalenderverlag GmbH .
On January 1, 2018, Athesia Kalenderverlag took over the calendar program from Eiland Verlag, based on Sylt.
In April 2018, Athesia Kalenderverlag took over Calendaria AG from Immensee in Switzerland.
Publishing activity
Athesia Kalenderverlag prints ten million calendars a year with over 1000 titles, as well as puzzles and gift books. Jürgen Horbach is the managing director, Paulette Lamber is the publishing director. The chairman of the advisory board is Michl Ebner . Athesia Kalenderverlag employs around 120 people at its Dortmund and Unterhaching locations. The company's annual turnover is around 31 million euros (as of 2017).
Athesia Kalenderverlag is the market leader in the calendar business in Germany with a share of almost 30 percent (as of 2016). The publisher is also the market leader in Austria, Switzerland and South Tyrol.
