WNYE is a public broadcasting educational radio based in New York City . The station is operated by the NYC Media Group .

After a program reform in mid-2015, more programs for the Latino community and African Americans are being broadcast. From NPR u. a. "Here & Now" and " All Things Considered " adopted.

history

WNYE started as a station in the Apex frequency band in 1938 . In 1942 it switched to frequency modulation and broadcast on 42.1 MHz. In 1946 it moved to the new VHF band on 91.7 MHz and finally in 1948 on 91.5 MHz. The station was promoted to NYC Dept. in 2004 by the NYC Board of Education. of Information Technology & Telecommunications rededicated. The station is now operated by the Office of Media and Entertainment of the Mayor of New York.
