Under the symbol WRT ( W ireless R eceiver / T ransmitter) identifies the manufacturer Linksys its wireless router .

Based on this, some projects have WRT in their name that develop alternative open source firmware for WLAN routers and generally make them available free of charge (e.g. DD-WRT , OpenWrt , FreeWRT ).
