Web Service Modeling Ontology

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Web Service Modeling Ontology (WSMO) is a meta-model for the Web Service Modeling Language (WSML).

It forms the conceptual basis for this and defines a formal language with the help of which it is possible to semantically describe all important aspects of web services . It also provides a language for logical expressions and rules. It therefore serves to create Semantic Web Services and to contribute to their dissemination and thus contributes to the success of the Semantic Web .

elements

The four main elements are:

  • Ontologies (ontologies that define the language area for all other WSMO elements)
  • Web services (web services that provide access to certain functionalities)
  • Goals (objectives of the client when calling web services)
  • Mediators (intermediaries who are responsible for the interoperability between WSMO elements)
