6000 water cannon

The water cannon 6000 was based on a Mercedes 1719 with a forward control cabin. It was developed as a successor to the 4000 water cannon in the mid-1970s.

technology

The forward control cab was further developed from the NG series at the time and was characterized by a double cab typical of the fire service , which was raised in the rear with a glass structure. The vehicle was two-axle and equipped with all-wheel drive . The tank held 6000 liters of water (hence the name).

history

The 6000 water cannon was in use until at least the end of the 1990s. Its successor was the 9000 water cannon , which holds 9000 liters of water.

At the end of the 1990s, the Berlin police used the 6000 water cannon to water trees in the summer.
